Elementary Education Department Philosophy
Research, collaboration, communication, training, and mentoring are the keys words that guide the vision of the Elementary Education Department. The primary functions of the Department are the development, implementation and evaluation of curricular that will improve instruction and student achievement. Using effective strategies, instructional resources and professional development, the diverse learning needs of students are identified and programs are implemented. In collaboration with teachers, school administrators, support staff, and parents, the staff of the Elementary Education Department will actively assist school personnel in achieving the vision of “no child left behind.”

- that teaching and learning should be inspiring and joyful, engaging both heart and mind
- that servant leadership is needed to foster a collaborative effort between educators, parents, students, and community interests with a goal of empowering teachers and inspiring students
- that excellence honors life and inspires people
- that there is a core of essential knowledge that each student should master
- that this core of knowledge should be developed using the state standards and assessment model to ensure linkage and validity to the content
